General questions
To help the sales staff give you an accurate quotation for a system in your particular vehicle, please select from the following set of options.

Type in the make, model and year of manufacture of your vehicle.

Choose a level for the range of accessories (cables, connectors, interfaces) that will be used.

Select if you require the system to be fitted or not (or specify a price level).

Tell us if control of an iPod or other portable media player is important to you.

Select if you would like sound dampening to be applied to the interior panels of your vehicle.
What's that? This adds a layer of material that absorbs much of the panel vibration, helping to provide an acoustically 'dead' panel. Not only will this help to reduce road noise in some cases, it can significantly improve the sound from speakers in the car. Soundwaves reflected on to panels or directed against panels from the rear of speakers, can cause untreated panels to vibrate and 'sing'. Also, the level of reflected soundwaves is reduced, helping to prevent phase errors and frequency additions (basically various forms of distortion) as the sound bounces back through the rear of the speaker's cone. The additional rigidity of the panel can also assist in the mechanical control of the speaker cone. Even a minimal amount of treatment can be very beneficial.

Type any other special requirements (other accessories or work to be carried out) in the appropriate box. This might include the addition of a power capacitor, special trim material, steering wheel control and factory-display interfacing, access to the system for rear passengers by remote control, and so on.

Car interiors are full of materials that obstruct and degrade sound quality. Graphic and parametric EQs are only partial remedies for these problems. In addition, the speakers are not located at equal distances from listeners, creating an unbalanced, uncentred sound stage. Time correction can help fix this, but only for one listening position.

These acoustical problems are so severe that no correction system has been able to overcome them. Until now, claims Alpine. With the introduction of IMPRINT, Alpine provides a hardware/ software combination that not only claims to solve these problems, it actually improves the sound stage, tonal balance and definition — and does it automatically, in a matter of minutes.
