case very good fit for the job.good leather good fit......but no hole for the remote control to see the remote handset when the case is on the player.need a slightly bigger hole to fit two ear phones.all in all very good and i'd buy one again apart from this.derek

A very well made item. My only concern is that with the case the DVD player, you cant shut the DVD player without putting a strain on the DVD hinge. It works very well on the back of the car seat. I would have been happier if I could have shut the case right up to give extra protection to the DVD player when not in use.

I bought this case to go with my Sony DVP-FX730 portable DVD player as I wanted something that would not only protect the player but allow it to be used in the car as well. It is at best a partial success.
The case does cover the unit, but the fit is poor and the lower edge of the screen is often obscured, a couple of the controls on the unit are obscured, including the 'menu' button which is a pretty basic control not to have easy access to. I wouldn't have found this to be an issue if the cover didn't also cover the IR sensor for the remote control rendering it useless.
The car mounting function consists of an elasticated band on the back of the screen section to go over the car headrest and a strap to secure the bottom to the seat. However the elasticated band doesn't fit over the headrest on our car (too small) and the strap is non removable when the case isn't in the car meaning it flaps around and gets in the way most of the time.
As a result, we only use the cover when the player is in a suitcase/bag and take it off when my young daughter wants to use it, thereby negating most of the point of it.
I'm sure there are better cases out there; as soon as I find one I'm replacing this without a backward glance.
