This cd player is easy to install, easy to use, lets you control your ipod and adjust all area of the sound quality, i am more than impressed with this player! it looks good to. If you have the money buy it then get better speakers and you'll be very very happy! more bass than you know what to do with if thats what you want! if not then you can adjust the eq, loudness etc. i love it for its ease of use, great sound quality and features!

4 out of 5 stars Easy to install, and works with my iPod Touch!   October 19, 2008

This is the first head unit that I have purchased, and I got it for my first car (A T-Reg Corsa).

Firstly however, it was pretty easy to install - The only problem I had was getting the frame which is used to hold the unit when it is installed off the unit. (It is attached around it when it comes in the box). I got it off with a screwdriver, but realised afterwards that it can be done easily with tools which are supplied specifically for this job. Doh!

As I said, I have had no prior experience with installing these, but was happy to find that my Corsa had just one plug which went straight into the back of the unit; and one arial. I did have to purchase an adapter for the arial, but you can get these from any electronics or motoring supplier really for around £2.50.

Finally, the iPod connection is fantastic - although I wasn't sure that it would originally, I can confirm that it works with the Apple iPod Touch, with song titles, artists and everything working as expected. The navigation through your music is just like it is on the click-wheel iPods.

The sound is much, much better than the bog-standard tape/radio combo which came with the car 12 years ago! It really is fantastic!

Finally, the design of the product is great, and it feels pretty well made. The box that the fascia can be stored in when you lock your car up has a few foam pieces in it which stop it from bouncing around. My only small gripe with the product is that because the text on all the buttons lights up blue, it is sometimes a bit difficult to see what they say under certain light. It does look fantastic when it gets darker, however. It is fairly intuitive to use, and the manuals (All six of them - each in two languages) are very well laid out and easy to flick through.

I haven't tested the AUX-in capabilities of the unit.

Overall the product is really great, but I think because of the couple of very minor niggles, it just misses out on five stars.

3 out of 5 stars Crisp sound, with draw backs...   July 15, 2009
Mr. Gavin Brady (Scotland)
I researched alot of different headunits to find one that would work with my ipod directly, and be able to work with the stalk controls of my car(Renualt Megane '02). This one seem to come out the best as it had everything I needed; its loud, it works with ipods, has a RCA out and the steering wheel controls.
I got the headunit very quickly, and descided to fit it myself as I am a sound engineer. Went to fit it, and no luck- the unit wouldnt turn on. After alot of tinkering and following wires through my car, I gave up and e-mail the company. They informed my I needed a CAN Bus Adaptor for it to work. They were very helpful throughout and told me what model to get. The adaptor set me back £45, and on installing it the unit still did not work. By this point I getting pretty annoyed as everything was wired correctly. I even had a mechanic look over it and he tried to get it working. Finally, after long consideration I check the provided loom of wires but to find the labels or wires where in the wrong place(I think it was the red acc and the battery). I corrected this by crossing the wires and connecting the red wire to the yellow, and by magic it came on. No luck with the steering controls, so was a complete waste of £45 AND I couldnt send it back, as everytime I tried to contact the company they did not respond.

Now its working, its great. Big, clear sound with easy operation. Looks very cool as well, shame about the stalk controls though. Its drive 2 6x9 and a sub and copes very well. Only draw back was my ipod doesnt work with the unit, so if your ipod is 5th gen (Ipod video) onwards it work; anything before and you will get an error message.

Good unit, but may cause you more hassle than its works. All together about £145 down...

3 out of 5 stars Great, but flawed   April 13, 2008

I purchased this headunit mainly for the USB capabilities, to then find that they are vastly flawed.

For example, you take your USB stick, and upload some albums onto it. One folder for begins with the letter "S" and the other begins with the letter "V". If, two days later you want to upload an album beginning with "S" you'll be forgiven for thinking it is simple. For when you transfer the "S" folder over, this gets placed at the end of the list as the headunit sorts the folder list via time and date as opposed to character!

This means if wish to keep your folder-hierarchy in alphabetical order therefore making it easy to search your MP3s you have to transfer all the files over to your computer that are on the USB stick. Then add the one folder to this list, and re-transfer everything over...a very time consuming task if you are using an 8GB USB flash drive!

You can probably get around it by creating folders labelled A-Z, and then only re-transferring the artists that you are effecting into these folders, but you shouldn't have to!

It is such a shame, as it is a very beautiful unit, CD player works perfectly, radio is crystal clear, the multi-function wheel makes it easy to change radio station/tracks while you keep your eyes on the road, the USB load up time is great, and would in all respects be worth 4.5/5 or 5/5, but for the very obvious design flaw that they've let creep in I've had to knock off 2 stars.
